Cleanlist identified 51,795 new movers in Canada in November 2024. This resulted in a huge 19.5% decrease in new movers from October 2024 to November 2024 and a mild 11.1% increase year over year. The steep decline in Canadian mover counts leading into 2025 could reflect a number of economic and regional factors. Despite a mild year-over-year increase in new mover activity, the last couple of months have marked significant declines following the September boom.\u00a0<\/p>

Typically, lower interest rates stimulate housing activity by making mortgages more affordable and encouraging buying and selling activity. However, the current trend suggests that other factors are offsetting the benefits of this rate drop. These other factors could be affordability challenges due to inflationary pressures or limited housing inventory for lower\u2014or middle-class citizens. It seems that the interest rate cut may not be enough to offset broader challenges as potential buyers \u201cwait and see\u201d while they weigh the economic risks of relocation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
